Perceptions of reader postings online
A total of 11 question items were used to ask both the general public and editors about their opinions or views on reader postings and on interaction between readers and newsroom.
In the general public survey, respondents were asked the likelihood of their posting a comment online if they must provide their names. Their responses were coded on a 7-point scale with "1" being "very unlikely" and "7" being "very likely."
[Average score = 3.94, standard deviation = 2.45]
