The APME has honored this photograph as National Member Photo of the Month for December 2013.
Thanks to Visuals Director Carrie Yale and photographers Ricky Flores, Tania Savayan and Carucha L. Meuse from the Journal News for judging this month.
Here is what the judges had to say about the winning image:
"Beth Nakamura's photo was the one in the group we kept coming back to. While the caption does add pertinent information, the photograph tells the story on it's own. The moment is hopeful, poignant, magical and just makes the viewer believe there is still a lot of good out there. The child's hand reaching up to touch Santa's, and the look back from Santa, says it all. It's a well-composed and clean image that captures the feeling of childhood and makes you think about your own beliefs, all through the connection in those two hands."
Below is the link to all images entered for December and the winner is slide #19.
