The APME has honored the photograph below, by Michael Ciaglo of The Gazette, as National MBR Photo of the Month for May 2015.

Here is what the judges had to say about the winning image:
"Michael's photo captures a private and emotional moment while also alluding to the crowd of people surrounding Capt. Debbie Tuttle. He creates a powerful juxtaposition between having so much support at the ceremony yet being so distanced from the event and feeling alone. The photo is well-composed, drawing your eyes first to Tuttle's face, then the diagonal lines of her arm draw your eye across to her hand where you can read the name that’s engraved. It’s then that you want to read the caption and learn the story."
