APME/APPM selects the Photo of the Month for June

The APME has honored the photograph below, by Grace Beahm of The Post And Courier, as National Member Photo of the Month for June 2015.
Parents of Tywanza Sanders, Tyrone Sanders and Felicia Sanders comfort each other at the graveside of their son Saturday, June 27, 2015, at Emanuel AME Cemetery in Charleston, S.C. According to a pamphlet given at the funeral, Sanders died trying to protect Susie Jackson, his aunt, and Felicia Sanders, his mother who survived the shooting. "The funeral of Tywanza Sanders who was one of the nine churchgoers fatally shot in the massacre at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, S.C. The intensity of the moment captured by photographer Grace Beahm highlighted the mood of a city and the nation as it mourned the tragic loss of life. A father's final private moment with his son is even more powerful when it conveys such intimacy and dignity."
