APME has honored the above photograph as the Member Photo of the Month for October 2010.

"This photo captures an intimate moment that not only is well-composed, but also tells the whole story at a glance. The emotion captured in the returning serviceman and the hectic background brings a three-dimensional quality to the photo—and it was cropped just right to draw attention to the main subject without being overly busy. The outstretched arms bring our eyes into the frame and that’s a great grin.”
