The APME has honored the above photograph as the National Member Photo of the Month for September 2011.

What Patrick had to say about the winning image:
"When this photo first came over the wire, myself and another one of my colleagues were immediately struck by the young girl's limp, nearly lifeless body with the fireman literally holding her life in his hands, carefully shielding her and steadying her leg against his chest. You can't see her face, it could be anyone's child and it's impossible not to imagine the shock of seeing your own child in this situation and the relief of knowing she's going to be ok.”
