An unidentified person is carried out of Norris Hall at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va., Monday, April 16, 2007, after a shooting incident. Shootings in a dorm and classroom at Virginia Tech resulted in multiple fatalities.

The Associated Press Managing Editors association awards Member Showcase Photo honors each month for the best image shared by a newspaper with other Associated Press photo users. The competition is judged by a panel of AP and member photo editors. The best of the monthly Showcase photos receives a Member Showcase Photo prize at the APME annual conference in October.
