August 2007 Showcase Photo

This is the August 2007 Member Showcase photo of the month, as judged by APME. Judge comments from Tracey Trumbull, The Knoxville News Sentinel: "The winner – This image stood head and shoulders above the other entries. We all were struck by the image; often expecting this to occur on a brushback pitch or struck batter, but seeing the batter, armed with his Louisville Slugger, actually chasing down the pitcher was a truly great moment."

 

The Associated Press Managing Editors association awards Member Showcase Photo honors each month for the best image shared by a newspaper with other Associated Press photo users. The competition is judged by a panel of AP and member photo editors. The best of the monthly Showcase photos receives a Member Showcase Photo prize at the APME annual conference in October.
