This is the July 2008 Member Showcase photo of the month, as judged by APME. Dave Elver of Carterville, Ga., sings along with 1,500 people during a grand opening celebration of the new headquarters of Barbershop Harmony Society in Nashville, Tenn., on July 2. The Mega Sing was part of Barbershop Harmony Society 2008 International Convention in Nashville.

The Associated Press Managing Editors association awards Member Showcase Photo honors each month for the best image shared by a newspaper with other Associated Press photo users. The competition is judged by a panel of AP and member photo editors. The best of the monthly Showcase photos receives a Member Showcase Photo prize at the APME annual conference in October.
