BRAG ABOUT YOUR BEST WORK

Showcase the innovative thinking of your news organization by contributing to 2007 APME/APPM Great Ideas Collection. This year's edition has several new categories, along with many of our old favorites.

Each year, the Associated Press Managing Editors and the Associated Press Photo Managers puts together "Great Ideas," a must-have collection of cutting-edge content strategies from editors in the United States, Canada and Europe.

The very best will be showcased at the 2007 APME/APPM conference Oct. 3-6 in Washington, D.C., as part of a take-home print reference and Web site. They will also be showcased in special program segments at the conference. Content categories include:

   a. Breaking news tactics (print and digital)

   b. Encouraging community conversation

   c. Encouraging reader involvement

   d. Eye-popping presentation (print and digital)

   e. Innovations in photojournalism

   f. Local-local coverage tactics

   g. Managing change

   h. Multimedia tactics

   i. Niche or targeted platforms (print and digital)

   j. Reflecting diversity

   k. Special projects

   l. Story telling (words, images, graphics)

   m. Watchdog journalism

   n. Other innovations (Great Ideas that don't fit easily into any of the above categories)

For each submission, please describe your Great Idea in no more than 300 words. More than one idea can be submitted.

Please include your paper's name, contact editor, title, phone number and e-mail address. We would also value PDFs and/or digital photos of your examples. URLs welcomed as well, of course. Send to:
