At the Rochester, New York, NewsTrain on Sept. 25-26, 2020, you will learn how to:

  • Develop a data mindset to improve stories every day,
  • Create simple data visualizations such as maps and charts,
  • Use social media as powerful reporting tools,
  • Maximize your use of Instagram Stories to reach new audiences,
  • Make smart choices in storytelling for mobile audiences,
  • Evaluate ideas for podcasts, and
  • Follow demographic "fault lines" to improve accuracy and build trust.

Scholarships are available for journalists, journalism educators and journalism students from diverse backgrounds. The deadline to apply is Aug. 11, 2020. Please see the workshop page for details.

Register for just $75 through Aug. 25 for two full days of digital training. Registration increases to $85 on Aug. 26.
