The APME has honored this photograph as National member Photo of the Month for April 2014.

Thanks to Kevin Martin at the Knoxville News Sentinel for judging this month.

Here is what Kevin had to say about the winning image:

“The photo of Lucy Hamlin leaning on her husband’s foot illustrates the universal fear and tension of military personnel and their families after a second attack at Fort Hood. The smart use of framing by Austin American-Statesman photographer Deborah Cannon allows the reader to connect with Hamlin’s body language and share in her frightening experience."
