APME is accepting applications for the 2015-2016 Editor Educator Exchange, a partnership that puts editors in college classrooms and journalism educators in the newsrooms of APME members. The goal is to help journalism programs stay abreast of the rapid changes occurring in U.S. newsrooms.
Each semester, one editor will visit one college journalism program, and a faculty member will make a return visit to the editor’s news organization. The first exchange, in March, sent former APME president Bob Heisse, executive editor of The Times of Northwest Indiana, to Ball State University. Ball State faculty member Juli Metzger followed up with a visit to Heisse’s newsroom in Munster.
