The 2009 Great Ideas booklets went fast during October's annual conference in St. Louis. If you were unable to attend, you can now download a .PDF of the publication here. This year's booklet again includes hundreds of great ideas you can use in your own newsroom.
The topics include investigative projects, efforts to attract young readers, tips to build readership, multimedia storytelling and specality Web sites. This year's book also includes chapters on watchdog reporting and ideas shared by The Associated Press.
This year's edition was compiled by Kurt Franck, managing editor of the Toledo (Ohio) Blade, and Terry Orme, managing editor/news and business at The Salt Lake Tribune, with submissions from APME members across the country.
