10:30 Wrestling Hyperlocal. "The Truth about” While not the only hyperlocal online news network on the scene, AOL's has caused the biggest stir within the newspaper industry since its launch in 2009. Many newspapers are competing head to head for both news and advertising dollars, competing to retain reporters who are being lured away, and even changing news practices to better compete. But is really a long-term threat to our local news businesses, or is it destined to financially flame out? The Embassy Suites Denver - Downtown Convention Center is offering a special room rate of $159 a night for the conference. The special rate will be available until Aug. 16 (Sept. 15 is sold out) or until the group block is sold out, whichever comes first.
