Register now: APME conference is just around the corner
The Associated Press Media Editors 2013 conference is just weeks away, and it's not too late to register.
The theme of the conference in Indianapolis, Oct. 28-30, is "Content is King."
Conference sessions include Sports Coverage and Access, First Amendment Showdown, Change Management, Keeping Print Alive, The New Ethics, Metering Mania and How to Reset Your Coverage and Priorities.
The conference will be held at the Indiana State Museum. The first night's reception and APME Foundation auction will be held at the Indiana Roof Ballroom, and the second night will feature a reception at the NCAA Hall of Champions.
Register for the conference today!
Save the date for 2014 ASNE/APME joint conference
Save these dates for the 2014 ASNE/APME convention: Monday, Sept. 15 - Wednesday, Sept. 17, at the Hyatt Regency Chicago.
That's right - it's official.
We announced in August that the American Society of Newsapaper Editors and Associated Press Media Editors were joining forces to present a joint convention in Chicago. In the past week, we finalized details with our convention hotel, the Hyatt Regency, in the Loop area at 151 E. Wacker Dr. It's a great location and, by all accounts, a terrific convention hotel.
We'll be building upon the success of June's ASNE convention in D.C. and APME’s 80th anniversary conference Oct. 28-30 in Indianapolis.
Joint ASNE-APME committees already have met once to begin planning various aspects of the 2014 conference, including programming and fundraising.
In addition to ASNE and APME, the Associated Press Photo Managers will be involved in the effort. APME and APPM traditionally have held their annual conferences together.
It's too early to register or book your hotel room. But it’s not too early to mark your calendar. We will provide more details in the coming months.
Lots to love at the APME Foundation Auction in Indy!
There's still time to donate, so just contact APME Foundation President Bob Heisse.
You'll want to be there for this gathering at our annual conference, but just in case, here is a list of some of the great grabs, a few you can even bid on from afar. These bids will be the starting point for the Oct. 28 live auction at the conference.
